Today I Learnt...

What do young men really learn at school?
Maths, languages, history… and sometimes, the things we wish they didn't.

From calling a friend a “simp” to laughing off a misogynistic joke, boys pick up ideas about masculinity from a young age – ones that can shape their relationships and identity well into the future.

But it doesn’t have to be this way.

Consent Labs Positive Masculinity workshop gives young men the tools and confidence to challenge harmful stereotypes and call out behaviour.

Because the best lesson they can learn? That there is power in being a positive role model for others and yourself.

ABOUT our positive masculinity program
Empowering students to promote positive traits of masculinity and challenge dominant norms.
In small workshop groups led by male-identifying facilitators, participants discuss:“What does it mean to be a man?”

This peer-led session gives young men the confidence and space to explore what masculinity means to them and what or who might be influencing this. We empower students to link harmful behaviours and masculine ideals with issues of consent, and encourage students to act positively and respectfully.

How can men be positive role models for others? What are the barriers to displaying a positive brand of masculinity and how do we overcome these barriers and make real change?

This program is delivered in small group workshop format only.
Suitable for:
Male-Identifying Students ONLY in years 9 to 12 and University Colleges, Clubs, Sports, Student Groups.
Duration: 1hr+
